Dr Challoner's School has a rich history dating back to the early 17th century when it began educating boys in Amersham and the surrounding area. Today, it's widely recognized as one of the leading state grammar schools in the country, serving 1300 students aged 11-18, including girls in our co-educational Sixth Form. Our mission is to help students develop into well-rounded young adults with the right habits, attitudes, and qualifications for success in the modern world.

In 2019, Ofsted judged us as Outstanding, reflecting our track record of excellence and innovation. We converted to academy status in 2011, becoming a National Teaching School and a School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) Centre in subsequent years. In 2021, we were designated as the Teaching School Hub for Buckinghamshire, further enhancing our role in training and improving teaching quality in our school and the wider community.
